what do you get when..

..a spring that had fallen off Rubens Barrichello's Brawn GP car flew up and struck Massa in the helmet while travelling at around 175mph during qualifying on Saturday.

The spring in question is around five inches long, coiled metal and quite heavy.

An apparently dazed Massa continued straight through a curb, across the track and through the gravel area alongside the circuit before slamming into the tire barrier at high speed (estimated 65mph).

The impact of the rear suspension part damaged the left side of Massa's helmet, ripping out the visor and leaving a long dent on its side. Blood was seen above Massa's left eye, which was not damaged.

"Following a complete medical examination it emerged that he had suffered a cut on his forehead, a bone damage of his skull and a brain concussion," Ferrari said in a statement.

get well soon, mate. your little red car will wait for ya

one last complete pic to drool over (maybes?)

kevin spacey's not only a BB user but he tweets too!

Kevin busted out his BlackBerry Bold and educated David in the ways of Twitter. It's funny clip, be sure to watch. And if you're wondering what Twitter client Keyser Söze himself is using, by his description from sending a tweet it sounds like TwitterBerry.

rumor or true?

according to FT, Apple is set to launch this in SEPTEMBER

man, that really makes putting on hold the netbook I've been eyeing to test with a WWAN module.

then again, the article did mention running on WiFi only with no mobile broadband in sight (hack it for Gobi WWAN card?)

i guess this looks..tempting too? (it DID before the rumor on the above)

for the subey riceboys

For starters, the whiz kids over at Subaru Tecnica International have reprogrammed the ECU and fitted smoother ball bearings for the turbocharger to boost output to 304 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. They've also retuned the suspension, reinforced the chassis, recalibrated the power steering's lubrication, fitted new rims on Bridgestone Potena RE070 rubber and reduced the curb weight with lighter body panels, windows, battery and tire kit.

can i check out ur wireless?

for hiam and my bro, you know what i'm talking about ;)

excerpt:

"..It's a $2000 router, actually. Oh sorry, an outdoor $2000 router.

That's because Ruckus Wireless's ZoneFlex 7762 uses dynamic beam forming and adaptive meshing with wireless N. Dynamic beam forming, you say? Why yes. Ruckus says that its dynamic beam-forming antennae automagically find the best way to shoot the internet waves, so it has 3-4x the performance of other outdoor routers. It's supposedly able to keep going 150Mbps of bandwidth going at 1,000 feet between meshed node.

Oh, and it has a built-in heater, in case it gets cold (down to -40 degrees) and there are no blankets.."

"..On Friday 3rd July, I received a really lovely mad gift for my birthday (which is on the 5th) from Jonathan Ive and Jody who works with him at Apple - a perfect model of an Ipod but as you can see slightly bigger than usual. Jonny knows I like strange things; as the real thing gets smaller, he sends me a giant version!.."

watches to drool at only..

presenting the Urwerks 'King Cobra' UR-CC1

On the UR-CC1, there are two horizontal indications displayed by two cylinders: one for the (jumping) hours and a retrograde cylinder for the minutes. The seconds are displayed by a rotating disk on the dial.
The UR-CC1 is the result of more than three years of research, development, production and testing to ensure that the rotation and instant fly-back of the large hour and minute cylinders was achieved without compromising accurate timekeeping.

next up, we have the ultra-"how'd they do that" Louis Vuitton Tambour Mysterieuse Calibre LV115

The focus of the design lies in its transparent face with a mechanism that appears to float in the center. However, the secret to this magical feature is actually quite simple—the hour and minute hands are supported by two transparent sapphire disks. The watch is also capable of running for up to eight days on a single winding.

cost? a measly US$250,000
